single-channel video installation
A collaboration with composer Norman Westberg, best known for his guitar work in the band Swans, that uses his solo piece "Bedroom Off" as a soundtrack.
The video uses visual elements from nature, including the movement of trees and snow, to create an organic rhythm that weaves across the music, sometimes in synchronous harmony and sometimes in a contrasting juxtaposition. It cycles from light to dark, the way the day moves into night.
In the Split series, objects are filmed close enough to capture their iconography, but not reveal themselves entirely, Using kaleidoscopic presentation to highlight movement, the objects are deconstructed in to a series of shapes and patterns and transformed into something new, while still retaining their essence.
